There is never a convenient time to find that your car's battery has gone dead. Have your battery checked regularly to help prevent that from happening at the worst possible time. We provide battery checks when your vehicle is serviced but if you are just curious come by and we will check your battery free of charge. If you do find yourself to be in need of a battery we keep in stock just about every battery for every vehicle. We feel that it is important to use the top of the line products so here we recommend an Interstate Battery for all of your battery needs.

Emissions Testing

For most people, polluting the environment isn't high on their interest list. For almost everyone, keeping their vehicle's emissions in peak performance will save them time and money. So it's always a good idea to make sure your car is utilizing fuel to its best capability.

Brakes

Brakes can be an afterthought. Can you stop in time? At times, people forget to have their brakes checked. Here at Lake Highlands Automotive, we will do a complimentary brake check when your vehicle is in for service. We will let you know if you need any kind of brake repair at that time. We only recommend brake service when absolutely necessary.

Oil Changes

Here at Lake Highlands Automotive, you get more than the ordinary oil and filter change. When your vehicle is in for service we check all tires for both air pressure and for leaks, all fluid levels and for fluid replacement, belts, hoses, air filter and lubricate the front end (when applies) to ensure that your vehicle is up to par on its regular maintenance schedule.

Wheel Alignment

Small variations in your wheel alignment can cause havoc on your mileage and on your vehicles systems. If you notice your vehicle pulling one way or the other, come get your alignment checked out.

Air Conditioning

We provide air conditioning service for all vehicles. Here in Texas we all know it gets HOT in the summer time. No one wants to sweat in their car. We have the ability to make all necessary repairs to your air conditioning system from a simple service, to complete air conditioning replacement, to any electrical issue you may be having. We have the tools to determine the problem and make the proper repair.

Cooling System

The cooling system is an important part of the way your vehicles engine performs. Extreme engine temperatures can cause catastrophic failures. It is very important to make sure that the cooling system is working properly. During service of your vehicle, we inspect the cooling system to make sure it is full of anti-freeze and that the protection level of your anti-freeze is adequate. The cooling system consists of anti-freeze, a radiator, thermostat, hoses, fan belt, water pump, heater core, cooling fans, fan clutch, relays, gaskets, and sensors. From a simple leak to a complex electrical problem we have the ability to make the repairs needed.

Transmission

Transmissions fluid services and flushes are important to extending the life of your transmission. Maintaining your transmission properly according to manufacturer's recommended schedule is always a good thing. On the chance that does not happen and you find yourself with a transmission slipping or grinding and in need of a complete overhaul, replacement of a specifically needed part or simply just a service of the fluid or filter, we can help ease your concerns.

Belt Replacement

Belts help power your air conditioning, power steering, alternator, and water pump. Some vehicles have one belt that controls everything and some vehicles have multiple belts depending on the kind of vehicle you are driving. Belts are rubber and are designed to wear out over time. Belts develop cranks and can eventually break leaving you stranded. Prohibit this from happening by having your belts checked regularly while having your vehicle serviced at Lake Highlands Automotive or by simply pulling in and asking one of our expert technicians to check the condition of the belts.

Suspension

Shocks/Struts, Control Arms/Ball Joints, and Bushings are all integral parts of the suspension of every vehicle. Having the suspension checked to ensure that everything is working as efficiently as possible is very important. Worn suspension components can decrease your stopping distance while braking as well as increase the possibility of uneven and excessive wear on your tires. The comfort and stability of your vehicle's ride is important. Which is why we recommend having your suspension and alignment checked at least once a year.

Preowned Vehicle Inspection

Buying a new to you, yet used vehicle can be nerve wrecking when not knowing the past history or previous maintenance on the particular vehicle in question. We provide ease to your discomfort by inspecting the vehicle you are thinking about buying from bumper to bumper. We check to see if a vehicle has been wrecked and properly repaired as well the current condition of the vehicle from brakes, belts, hoses, fluids (both for replacement if necessary or if anything is leaking), tires, suspension, exhaust system, door locks and windows.

Roadside Assistance

We offer a roadside service to come to your location and try to jump start your vehicle or assist you with a flat tire. If we are not able to get the vehicle in a drivable state we offer a towing service to our shop. Feel free to give us a call and we will be glad to assist you.

Check Engine Light

We have the diagnostic tools to check out all domestic and Asian vehicles and most European vehicles. There are a lot of places that offer a free scan of the vehicle's computer, which we will do as well. All that scan tells you is what code is stored in the computer and where to begin your diagnostic testing. We go beyond that with our ASE Certified Technicians. We do a complete inspection of the vehicle to pinpoint the problem that has turned the light on. From there we make a complete repair of only what is necessary to correct the problem.
